Privacy Policy

How to Fish Wiki is an independent fan-made guide site. This page explains what little data the site handles and why. Last updated September 1, 2026.

Information We Collect

This site does not require an account, does not include sign-up forms, comment sections, or any other way to submit personal information, and does not run any analytics or advertising scripts. The only data the site stores is your light/dark theme preference, saved locally in your browser’slocalStorageso the site remembers your choice on your next visit. That preference never leaves your browser and is not sent to us or anyone else.

Like any website, the hosting infrastructure that serves these pages may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. We do not access or use these logs to identify individual visitors.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The only browser storage it uses is the theme-preference entry described above, which is not a cookie and is never transmitted to a server.

Third-Party Links

This site links out to official sources such as the developer’s website, Discord server, YouTube channel, and Steam pages, along with the community guides cited throughout the wiki. Once you follow a link off this site, that destination’s own privacy policy applies, not this one — we don’t control or take responsibility for how those third parties handle your data.

Data Sharing & Sale

Because this site does not collect personal information in the first place, it has none to share or sell. If that ever changes — for example, if ads or analytics are added in the future — this policy will be updated first to disclose it.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them, consistent with the fact that it does not knowingly collect personal information from any visitor.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes — for instance, if the site adds analytics, advertising, or any way to submit personal information — this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
